West Shore Home Supports Veterans In Partnership With PGA REACH Philadelphia

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (June 06, 2019) – West Shore Home is proud to have participated with PGA REACH Philadelphia for their PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) program this spring at the Country Club of Harrisburg. PGA HOPE is a free, five-week program that introduces golf to veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.

“Participating in the PGA HOPE program was a tremendous honor,” said B. J. Werzyn, founder and CEO of West Shore Home. “West Shore Home is a strong supporter of U.S. veterans, so it meant a lot to be included in such a special program that gives back to veterans who gave so much of themselves for our country.”

PGA professionals from the Harrisburg area led the free golf sessions, and veterans of all skill levels were welcome to participate. Many of the participants included military veterans living with physical or cognitive challenges such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and limb loss, among other challenges.

Learning and playing the game of golf is a proven activity that has helped thousands of military veterans assimilate back into their community through the social interaction the activity provides.

West Shore Home’s philanthropic mission is to continuously support various veterans groups through corporate donations, sponsorships and company-wide events. West Shore Home is happy to be able to lend a hand to the thousands of U.S. veterans who selflessly served our country.
